Pro Set Campaign – any takers?

Well after my initial post I have heard jack shit about Pro Set and what has become of them – no news at all and the number I tried to phone was fruitless.  Anyone out there got any answers?

No thought not.

Well this gives me a good excuse to post some more players from my collection and tell you about the latest team pages we have released over at footballfilter.com.  Released today is the West Ham page so here’s picture of Julian Dicks, AKA The Terminator.

315 games, 64 goals

Gambling week 2 – the demise continues I imagine

After last weeks dismal attempt at getting rich, I am back spending a total sum of 4 francs and some debatable accumulators.  Basically I have spent 2 francs with a return of around 140 francs for Saturday and 2 francs  with a return of around 300 francs for Sunday – high odds, very little chance but thats how I roll.  Anyway here’s my Lawro esque report on the results, but without the camp innuendo:

Saturday

Fulham to beat Blackburn  - I know they are away but Hodgson is doing well with Fulham, after losing to Hull on the firs day of the season they have beaten Arsenal, Leicester and Bolton.  Admittedly all victories have been at home and the loss to Hull was away so its looking against them – I’m banking on Bullard to do one for me!

Arsenal to beat Bolton – yep they’ve got a bad history going to Bolton but Bolton are piss poor this season – I cant see them losing like they used to anymore, Bolton have lost the one thing that gave them a chance Allardyce.

Liverpool to beat Stoke – should do eh?

West Ham v Newcastle – draw.  Pretty bad week for the two teams – stalemate on the cards I hope!

Middleborough to beate Sunderland – I have no idea why I decided on this now!

Possible winnings – 136.8

Sunday

West Brom to beat Villa – bit of a wing and a prayer here, but as its a derby and they are at home.  I regret it now!

Chelsea to beat Man Utd – got to be done, Chelsea have been playing well, Vidic is missing, Ronaldo never really plays very well against Chelsea and Berba is injured.  So its got to come through Rooney or Tevez.  Deco was the signing of the season in my opinion and I expect him to be well up for it.

Everton to beat Hull – Everton are away but Arteta will sort them out I imagine.

Tottenham vs Wigan – draw.  I always pick one draw and what with Tottenham properly struggling at the moment, I thought I would go with this one.

Possible winnings: 390 francs!

Gambling Week One

So I set up a online betting account with bwin.com today, having decided it was high time I started gambling again.  I miss doing the accumulator and living in Switzerland they dont have bookies, so I thought it would be ideal.  So far I kind of regret signing up with bwin, the betting options are a little limited and the interface of the site is a bit average but unfortunately they’ve got me for 40 francs now so I guess i’ll have to stay with them until I inevitably lose it all.  So for the next following weeks I will be reporting on my average gambling skills.

I decided to do a variety of little bets (as in small amounts), mainly focussing on the Man City v Chelsea game, I bet that Chelsea would win 2-1 and also 4-0 and I also but a little flutter on SWP to score during the game, two francs on each bet.  What with Robinho’s sweet free kick and Chelsea basically ending up bossing City none of these babies came through.  And although Shaun had a quality game he never looked like scoring I am afraid – that was my “Hollywood”, dream headline bet that I thought could be a possibility.  I then also put 2 francs on Derby to beat Sheffield 3-1 and also Sheffield to win (on the recommendations of my mate) and neither sorted me out!  By all accounts Derby played pretty well, with Hulse scoring against his old club.  They had a penalty decision given and then taken away by the bell end lines man, otherwise maybe I would have got the 3-1 result (ended up 2-1).  Bye bye ten francs.

A little update

So for the last couple of weeks the blog hasn’t been a high priority at footballfilter.  This has much to do with me being on holiday than anything but this will change soon, blogs will be back on.  But for the time being I thought I would just give a brief update of what is going on and what we are up to.  Well for the main part we are investing in a developer to make managing the website far easier.  The developer will be setting up a CMS system so that retards like myself can actually manage the pages far easier, I for one am looking forward to it.  Alot of other features will also be worked on by this elusive chap but we will have to wait and see on that one…..

We’ve also been concentrating on the team pages, you may have noticed the poll that went up of late.  I think Arsenal won and this has been duly noted and an Arsenal page is up and running:

http://www.footballfilter.com/arsenal.php

Next up I think will be West Ham and then Liverpool.  Please feel free to email us at contact@footballfilter.com if you want a particular page sooner rather than later.  Likewise is you want you blog, site etc feeded on our site, get in touch and we will look into it.  We have just added a load of new podcasts, a bit of a favourite by our existing users of footballfilter, so we hope you like the new ones.  Other than that it’s all step by step really.   Once this CMS system is up and running all the pages will start fleshing out into a far better compiled site – like we said before please feel free to contact us with any feedback you have!

Also do any of you use twitter?  We have a page now, follow us if you like!

word up and brup brup.
