2. Another player being heralded as the next Zidane is gaining some interest, according to goal.com. Nasri and Gago have also been given this lable over the last few seasons, never heard or seen this chap tho…
3. Its not very often that a youtube football based video has a good song to it. Usually they have hellish cheese fest euro rock in the background like the Guano Apes or something, FootballShirtCulture has posted an Umbro video which has a pretty good hip-hop track, shame the vid isn’t too special, not bad but not great, just a bloody slide tackle:
5. And one more vid for good measure. I should have posted about this when it first came out and been cool like all the kids but I was lazy, so in case you havent seen it….. courtesy of FootballShirtCulture again…
Things are afoot here at footballfilter, we have a new sexy content management system which means we no longer have any excuses for making new pages, new team pages or fixing dead links quickly. Basically it means a fool like me can create a team page in about 2 hours now rather than how it was before where deep lines of code had to be dealt with, of which I know nothing about. So hoorah. In the next month or so you will see the fruits of this labour with a lot more stuff on footballfilter.com. More info about that as it comes tho…..
Anyway, the post Xmas hangover is slowly leaving and football news has begun again. Heres some top links I have spotted….
1. Everybody loves goal compilations and here is one from the great 101greatgoals.com, so quality finishes in this compilation and for once the soundtrack isn’t some cheese on toast bollocks gay fest, its actually quite a good tune:
2. Apparently Craig Bellamy might be off to Tottenham – why would they inflict piky dick head scum like him on the club? And he is for the most part rather average…..
4. Now I am not posting this one because I rate it, more because I think the Guardian writers are very lazy and this annoys me, I dont really agree with this posting, take a look and let me know what you think. Personally I think Chelsea need good wingers, its not a case of them having too old players….
1. Straight off is a great blog post from Hasta El Gol Siempre a great South American blog, this post is all about Boca’s latest game which also included a horrendous clash with one player reportedly swallowing his tounge, you can read the report and see the clash on video right here:
2. Next up is something I found via the peeps at The Offside who in turn found it at Kickette - Joey Barton holding a baby - I wish I could compose a witty caption for it but I just can’t – please feel free to post any that spring to mind!
3. Now for a photo I found at Hasta El Gol Siempre’s Flickr pool – Wish I could understand Spanish so I could further explain what the caption under it says, but either way I am more amazed that someone was able to take this photo without someone giving him a slap for getting in the way!
4. Heres a short little thing i got sent in my Youtube subscription this week – Van Persie showing off
5. And finally, Mourinho starts the chat in hesistation of Inter vs Man Utd already; claiming lazy, arrogant Zlatan is better than Ronaldo. Personally I think Inter Milan are light weight and Man Utd will have no problem beating them:
Is it just me or is Lawro’s questionable hair cut becoming even more questionable? The front has developed into something that once could be called a fringe into some kind of blond skunk patch, for want of a better comparison. A scally’s tasche is thicker than the fluff covering his forehead…… unfortunately the following photo doesn’t really do my thoughts justice but you get the idea, just tune into MOTD for the latest lowdown or Mark’s hair stylings; for sure it is one the more important issues in the footballing world today in my opinion. Fuck develpoing grass roots football in England, lets get Lawro a decent and flattering hair cut, whoever is his hair dresser should own up!
Tis been a while but I thought I should get back on it, turns out my original #5 has been sitting in my “drafts” foder for the last 7 days, what can I say I am a pro blogger.
So I don’t know about you but football and football related stories have been pretty tame of late. I don’t really give a shit if Robbie Keane is off or if a completely inexperienced manager like Paul Ince is unsurprisingly getting the sack. I want scandal, which I am afraid I can’t give to you….but I will try.
1. First up is this gem from The Offside, where Napoli owner warns any players of wanderlust to the premier league that the ladies there could do with a douche - Napoli Owner’s Stiff Warning Against Female Genitalia.
4. Another French vibe here. As I don’t pay too much attention to MLS or French league, heres a quick article on the transfer activity behind Standard Liege defender Onyewu, take from MLS blog Soccer by Ives. The American player is set to move to Marseille or Paris St Germain – anyone ever hear of him? French clubs set to battle for Onyewu
